  • James Paxton Named SEC Pitcher of the Week     After throwing his first career complete-game shutout in a post-season berth clinching win over Ole Miss, sophomore southpaw James Paxton has been named the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

  • Lindley on Nagurski Award Watch List     Kentucky cornerback Trevard Lindley has been named to the watch list for the 2008 Bronko Nagurski Award, given to the nation's top defensive player.

  • Ole Miss beats Cats on hit batter in 11th    Cody Overbeck was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the 11th inning to give visiting Mississippi a 7-5 win over the University of Kentucky baseball team yesterday.
  • Cats miss out on series sweep    BAD BREAKS, MISTAKES COST UK, SEND MISSISSIPPI TO TOURNEY    A rare home-field loss for Kentucky on Saturday was a case of Ole Missed. Missed opportunities. Mississippi, fighting for its post-season life, edged the Wildcats 7-5 in 11 innings.
